I get in the garden this morning. Two days of frost and thought it better happen.
Picking my potatoes and 🥕 a few onions left in and my 🍅 survive the frost amazingly.
Digging, and harvesting and cooking.
A good day. About $20 worth of food, I think it's a bit more on how much groceries are now.
But it's well worth the work for potatoes 🙂.
The grape tomatoes are tasty.
I had a few while I wash them inside.
I had to taste to see if they were still good. But some spots on the lawn never got frost other parts did. So lucky on the day 🤠 I did it. I hoping for some warm days still.
The garden is dug up. With grass clippings over the dirt.
I'm undecided if I'll dig the grass clippings in this year or just on top hoping to keep the good top soil from blow away in winter winds.
My hands ✋ are needing a good wash.
I got the front mowed just as the rain was coming down. The other day. Still have to do the back before the day is done.
I lasted til the last day of summer to dig up the Garden 😀
It's a good thing I did the tops of the potatoes plant leafs were going fermented and wilted as I pulled em out of the ground. I was looking to see any tops of potatoes that might of got a shot of the cold. Most of it looked good. Dug into one or two of the potatoes but most of them are good.
I'll try to eat the halfers sooner maybe some Kurds and Fry's with gravy for lunch.
Washed my 🥕 carrots
Put a few ice cubes in with the water trying to keep them fresh. Rinsed and scrubbed.
Got it 👍 🤠 done.
Small carrots in a small metal bowl and big carrots in a big green bowl.
I think they'll have to be eaten right away here in the next week.
The potatoes dirt is drying so they'll go in a paper bag soon enough.
