Digging up sod
I got invited to work on a neighbors lawn today. Dug up some Sod. They are placing a sidewalk along there house 🏠.
I showed up ten to nine, and the job was all ready set up. The lines pegged, all I had to do was dig.
Made it easy to stay on track, the line along the sod to keep straight along. Also made it easier to see how he wanted the job to be done.
I think we were pleased with the out come of it. He said it was well done, is great to hear they're pleased with how it looked.
Kim came by with the dog and the dear brought me a sandwich. I only had an egg and apple for the morning with my coffee. Made the noon easier to get by.
We also got two pens he got working in over the winter. The avid writer I am, found it to be a terrific gift.
Here's a photo of the pens.
Came with a case to keep in the pocket. I got paid well to for work. I expected to work hard for it.
Kim and I get talking in the other day, we got a new scale, and it says I have high muscle mass but over weight. Which nice to hear I have muscle and I sort of new I was over weight.
Kim and I are losing weight this summer.
Back to where I finished moving the sod, we were about to head to the dump. But turns out the battery on the truck is out. We quickly boost the truck, I notice the vehicle was keep tidy even in the engine. It is well maintained, as we go out to the waste recycling facility out on the peripheral of the city.
We pass a feed lot and talk about eating more vegetarian and less meat. It's great to hear, don't get me wrong having some protein is great but eating less meat seems to be better lately.
Happy animals.
As we're driving the job director got talking of another neighbor that goes walking who is in cancer treatments and how we keep missing him walk around. I said it's got to be stressful cause when your on cancer treatments you can't get the vaccine.
I thought that might be why we haven't read or hear from him for a bit.
He would always be seen walking the neighborhood and was a great guy to visit with while the weather is getting nicer out. We sat during the drive and wondered.
Got back and he paid me, was a pleasure to earn a bit for a small job.
Seems the pandemic it's harder for some reason, to work.
I still want to make another planter in the afternoon or mow the front yard.
Yet I'm sort of sitting down at the moment over lunch.
I haven't decided yet.
Great morning; working, visiting
